Que’d Prompter · beta

Eyes on the lens. Words where you can see them.

Que’d is a teleprompter for on-camera scripts. It shows one phrase at a time, pinned right under your camera, and lights each word at the pace you set. A direction pass marks where to breathe, pause and lean in, and never changes a word.

Why reading on camera looks like reading

A scrolling wall of text pulls your eyes off the lens.

Most prompters roll the whole script past you. Your eyes chase the line, drift down the screen, and the camera sees it. You lose your place, rush the good parts, and sound flat on the parts that matter.

So you do it again. And again. You know what you want to say. It shouldn't take twelve takes to say it like you mean it.

Que’d keeps one phrase at the top edge, right where the camera is. You read a few words, look up, and you're already looking at your viewer.

Quick video messages

Need to say thanks, follow up or reply? Record it in a minute.

A 30-second video says more than another email. Que’d puts the words right under your lens, with your camera behind them, so you can record a natural message from your phone between meetings or the moment an order comes in.

After a meeting

Recap what you agreed while it’s fresh, face to face instead of a wall of bullet points.

When someone buys

Thank a new customer by name. A personal video lands differently from an automated receipt.

Reply to an email

When text would sound cold or take five paragraphs, answer in 30 seconds on camera.

On the go

Open it on your phone, read, record, save, send. It works offline, so a weak signal doesn’t stop you.

Not sure what to say? Have Que’d draft it.

Tell Que’d who it’s for and what happened. It writes a short script with the beats already marked, and you change any word before you read it. Drafting only writes when you ask; direction never changes your words.

How it works

How do you go from script to take with Que’d?

Three steps: bring your script in, add direction, then rehearse and record. Most scripts are ready to read in under a minute.

  1. Step 1

    Bring your script in

Paste it, write it, or import the file you already have. Que’d keeps your words exactly as written and saves every script in a library on your device.

    .txt.md.docx.pdf.rtf.odt.html.srt.vtt.fountain
  2. Step 2

    Add direction

Pick a delivery style and a pace. Direction marks the beats, breaths, stressed words, lifts and landings. Or mark it up yourself with a few simple symbols.

  3. Step 3

    Rehearse, then record

Read it at your pace with a 3-2-1 countdown, or tap through phrase by phrase. When it feels right, record the take with captions built from your script and save it to your files.

Direction

What does direction add to a script? Marks, never words.

Direction is a pass by Claude, Anthropic's AI model, that reads your script the way a director would and marks where to pause, what to stress and where a thought lands. It adds marks only. Every word stays yours.

Built for the person on camera

Everything on screen is there to keep you looking up.

1

One phrase at a time

The current phrase sits at the top edge under the camera, with the next one dimmed below it. Nothing important ever lands at the bottom of the screen.

110–190

Your pace, word by word

Set your speed in words a minute. Words light up as you reach them, stressed words take longer, and Que’d tells you how long the script runs on camera.

2

Two ways to read

Pace me moves on its own at your speed. I'll advance waits for a tap, a key or a Bluetooth clicker, so you set the rhythm.

26–96

Text you can read from the set

Phrase size from 26 to 96 px in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface built so I, l and 1 never blur together at a distance.

0 s

No install wait

Open it in Safari or Chrome and add it to your home screen or Dock. It works offline once it's there, so a bad studio connection doesn't matter.

SRT

Captions from your own words

Every take comes with SRT and VTT captions timed to the phrases you read. No speech recognition, so no misheard words.

Privacy

Does Que’d upload my videos? No. Your takes never leave your device.

A take lives in your device's memory until you save it, to your files or through the share sheet. Your scripts live in a library on your device too. The only thing that ever leaves is the text you send for direction, and only when you ask for it.

What is Que’d Prompter?

Que’d Prompter is a browser-based teleprompter for on-camera scripts, made in Canada by Que’d. It shows one phrase at a time at the top of the screen, directly under the camera, and lights each word at a pace from 110 to 190 words a minute. An optional direction pass, run by Anthropic's Claude, adds beats, breaths, stress, lifts and landings to the script without changing any words; the app rejects any result whose words differ. It can also draft a short video-message script on request, such as a customer thank-you or a meeting follow-up. It imports common document and caption formats, works offline once installed, and records takes with SRT and VTT captions that stay on the user's device.

Does Que’d change the words in my script?

No. The direction pass only adds marks such as beats, breaths, stress and lifts. Both the app and the server compare every word before and after, and if a single word differs, nothing is applied.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Que’d runs in the browser on iPhone, iPad, Mac and PC. You can add it to your home screen or Dock, and once installed it works offline.

Are my recordings uploaded anywhere?

No. A take stays in your device's memory until you save it to your own files. Captions are built from the words of your script on the device, with no speech recognition and no upload.

What does direction add to a script?

Direction adds short beats, breaths, full pauses, stressed words, lifts and landings, and paragraph cues like slow down, warm or eyes to lens. Each mark changes how the phrase is timed and shown on the prompter, so you know where to breathe and what to lean on.

Which files can I import?

Plain text, Markdown, Word (DOCX), PDF, RTF, OpenDocument (ODT), web pages (HTML), caption files (SRT and VTT) and Fountain screenplays. Scripts can be up to 20,000 characters.

Can Que’d write the script for me?

Yes. On the Try page, tell Que’d who the message is for and what it’s about, and it drafts a 15 to 35 second script with delivery marks. It’s a first draft: edit any word before you read it. Direction, by contrast, never adds or changes words.

How do I contact Que’d?

Email peek@qued.ca for questions about the beta, the app or press.

Can I use Que’d with teleprompter glass?

Yes. The record view is always true black so the screen disappears behind beam-splitter glass and under the lens, and the phrase sits at the top edge where the camera is.

Say it like you mean it. On the first take.

One phrase at a time, under the lens, at your pace. Every word yours.
